Euroskills Herning 2025 will be held from September 9–13, and on September 11, “two full buses” of young people from Northern Jutland will visit Euroskills. On the way to and from Herning, they’ll be inspired by apprentices from Sterke.

Although many young people today choose a vocational education, it’s still far too few. The “FremKom4” analysis shows that Northern Jutland alone is expected to lack 5,000 skilled workers and 3,500 technical specialists by 2026.

Even though we at Sterke succeed in attracting and retaining our skilled workforce in our production, we would like to see a much larger pool of candidates – for example, industrial technicians, says Annette Nedergaard from HR.

That’s why Sterke was quick to say yes to contributing to an event initiated by the Metal Industry’s Education Committee (Danish Industry, Danish Metal, and TEKNIQ). On board the buses from Northern Jutland are young people who are about to choose an education path.

And Sterke is on the bus. We’re participating with an EUX/industrial technician apprentice, Andreas Kirketerp Villadsen (right in the photo), and a blacksmith apprentice, Emil Troelsen (left in the photo), along with HR. On the bus and throughout the day in Herning, the two young men, Andreas and Emil, will talk to the other youth and share their everyday experiences as apprentices:

“The best part of a vocational training is the connection between school and practical learning, and we’re crazy about technology – which we get plenty of at Sterke. Plus, we have many career opportunities and can expand our experience and knowledge almost endlessly. We’re excited to talk to the other young people about that.”
